Ingredients
  

Cookie Base

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Can substitute with applesauce or mashed banana.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can swap for gluten-free flour.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Add-ins

  • 2 cups oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup M&M's or similar candies Feel free to swap for other candies.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually stir this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the oats, chocolate chips, and M&M's, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies are great on their own, but can be served with fresh fruit or vanilla ice cream. For a special treat, make ice cream sandwiches.
