  • 12 oz Spaghetti Feel free to substitute whole wheat or gluten-free spaghetti.
  • 1/2 cup Olive oil Use high-quality extra virgin for best flavor.
  • 4 cloves Garlic (sliced) Adjust amount based on garlic preference.
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes Adjust based on spice preference.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley (chopped) For garnish and flavor.
  • to taste Salt For seasoning.
  • 1/4 cup Grated parmesan cheese (optional) Optional for serving.

Instructions
 

Cooking

  • Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat without smoking.
  • Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic turns golden brown.
  • Drain the pasta, reserving a cup of pasta water.
  • Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet, mixing well to coat in the oil, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
  • Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
  • Serve immediately, topped with grated parmesan if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within three days. Reheat gently to preserve flavor.
