  • 10 pieces Mini onions
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 cup Milk or buttermilk
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs
  • as needed Oil spray

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Peel and trim the mini onions carefully.
  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  • Dip each onion into milk, allowing any excess to drip off, and then coat it in the flour mixture.
  • Next, roll the coated onion in bread crumbs until well covered.
  • Lightly spray each onion with oil for that golden finish.
  • Place the onions in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

Cooking

  • Air fry for about 10-15 minutes or until they turn golden brown, remembering to shake the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  • Serve hot as a delicious snack or appetizer.

Notes

These mini blooming onions are best served with a zesty dipping sauce like ranch or spicy aioli. They can be arranged on a platter or served in individual bowls for convenience.
