  • 3 ripe avocados Ensure they are perfectly ripe.
  • 1 lime, juiced Fresh lime juice is recommended.
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt Adjust to taste.
  • 0.5 cup diced tomatoes Can substitute with finely chopped bell peppers.
  • 0.25 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro Add more as garnish.
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced Optional for heat, adjust to preference.
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder Optional.

Preparation

  • Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
  • Mash the avocados with a fork until you reach your desired consistency—smooth or chunky, it’s up to you!
  • Add the lime juice, kosher salt, diced tomatoes, chopped onion, cilantro, and minced jalapeño (if using).
  • Stir everything together until well combined.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings as needed, adding more salt or lime juice if desired.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a tasty topping for tacos.

Notes

Store leftovers by pressing plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent browning. Best consumed within two days.
