Main Ingredients

  • 8 pieces croissant rolls store-bought or homemade
  • 8 slices smoked beef or smoked chicken
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese or cheddar for sharper flavor
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard optional
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds optional, for topping

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice croissants in half horizontally.
  • Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom half (optional for extra flavor).
  • Layer with a slice of smoked beef and cheese, then cover with the croissant top.
  • Place assembled croissants on the prepared baking sheet. Brush tops lightly with melted butter.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until croissants are golden and cheese is melted.

Notes

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven for best results. Assemble croissants and freeze before baking. Bake straight from frozen, adding 5 extra minutes. Swap smoked beef for smoked chicken or turkey slices. Try Gruyère cheese for a gourmet twist. Pair with a side salad for lunch, or serve with tomato soup for a comforting dinner combo.
