Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, scrubbed clean
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for crispier skin)
  • 1 pinch salt

Optional Toppings

  • crumbled cheese
  • butter
  • honey
  • fresh herbs
  • Greek yogurt

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Prepare the sweet potatoes: Scrub the sweet potatoes thoroughly under running water and pat them dry. Pierce each one several times with a fork to allow steam to escape during baking.
  • Optional crisp skin: Rub each potato lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt for a crisp, flavorful skin.

Baking

  • Arrange the sweet potatoes on the baking sheet and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, depending on size. The skin should puff slightly, and the inside should be soft when pierced with a fork.

Serving

  • Slice each sweet potato lengthwise, fluff the inside gently with a fork, and add your favorite toppings such as butter, herbs, cheese, or a drizzle of honey.

Notes

Choose even-sized potatoes for even cooking. Bake a batch ahead and store in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave when ready to serve.
