Brownie Ingredients

  • 1 cup melted butter Consider using high-quality butter for best flavor.
  • 1.5 cups packed brown sugar Dark brown sugar can be used for a deeper flavor.
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder For richer taste, replace half with melted chocolate.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet mini chocolate chips Optional substitutions: white chocolate or peanut butter chips.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until well mixed.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully blended after each addition.
  • In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the mini chocolate chips for added fudginess.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 20-35 minutes or until the edges are set.
  • Allow to cool before slicing into squares.

Notes

For best results, allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting for cleaner slices. Enjoy warm with ice cream or dusted with powdered sugar.
