  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the buttery mixture, stirring until combined.
  • Divide the dough into three equal parts. Use colored candy melts to dye one portion red, another blue, and leave the last one white.
  • Roll the colored doughs into logs and gently combine them to form a tri-colored log.
  • Slice the logs into cookie rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Optional: sprinkle with colored sprinkles for an extra festive touch.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown.
  • Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze them for up to three months. To reheat, microwave for a few seconds.
