Pasta and Filling

  • 1 pound bowtie pasta You can substitute with whole wheat or gluten-free pasta if needed.
  • 8 ounces cream cheese Make sure it's softened for easier mixing.
  • 2 tablespoons milk Helps to create a creamy filling.
  • 1/2 pound ground beef Can be substituted with ground turkey or a plant-based alternative.
  • 24 ounces pasta sauce Use your favorite brand or homemade sauce.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Feel free to add more for a cheesier dish.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large pot, bring water to a boil, then add the bowtie pasta. Cook until al dente, then drain.
  • While the pasta is cooking, heat a medium skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, then drain any excess grease.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cooked ground beef with cream cheese cut into chunks and milk. Add the pasta sauce and stir until well combined.
  • Fold the cooked pasta into the beef mixture, ensuring everything is evenly coated.

Baking

  • Spray a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray, pour the pasta mixture into the dish, and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

This dish can be served with a green salad or garlic bread. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to three days or frozen for up to three months.
