Meatball Mixture

  • 1 pound ground meat (beef, turkey, or pork) Feel free to use a plant-based alternative.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For drizzling.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, garlic, cranberry sauce, barbecue sauce, egg, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the meatballs.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
  • Serve with additional cranberry sauce or barbecue sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

For optimal freshness, store leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, place the meatballs in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through, or microwave them for a quick snack. Consider adding chopped nuts, diced bell peppers, or different sauce combinations for variations.
