Ingredients

For the truffles

  • 1 box Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
  • 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts For dipping
  • 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles For mixing into the dough
  • 3 tablespoons red candy melts Optional for drizzling
  • to taste none green sanding sugar For decoration

Instructions

Preparation

  • Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them in a large bowl.
  • Using a handheld mixer, combine the cakes until they turn into a crumbly dough. Fold in the festive sprinkles.
  • With a tablespoon, scoop out portions of the mixture and roll them between your palms to form smooth balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and repeat until all dough is used.

Coating and Decorating

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate or candy melts until smooth.
  • Use a fork or dipping tool to coat each chilled cake ball completely in the melted chocolate. Allow any excess to drip off before placing them back on the baking sheet.
  • In a piping or ziplock bag, melt the red candy melts. Snip off a corner and drizzle over the truffles.
  • Sprinkle with green sanding sugar and let them set in the refrigerator for about ten minutes.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. Chill the dough if too soft to roll. Experiment with various sprinkles or nuts for decoration.
