  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Can substitute with almond extract for a twist.
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • Green Food Coloring (optional, for festive coloring)
  • Decorations: Icing, sprinkles, or edible glitter Customize for holiday decoration.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  • Gradually incorporate the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  • If desired, add green food coloring for a festive touch.
  • Divide the dough in half, shape into logs, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes until firm.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Roll out one log of dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into tree shapes using a cookie cutter.
  • Place the cut-out cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool completely before decorating with icing and toppings.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Thaw at room temperature before enjoying. Don't skip the chilling step for the right texture and shape.
