  • 8 slices bacon for wrapping chicken
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce for topping
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese for topping

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Coat each chicken breast in olive oil and season with garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Wrap each chicken breast with 2 slices of bacon, ensuring they are completely covered.
  • Place the bacon-wrapped chicken in a baking dish.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Remove the dish from the oven and generously pour barbecue sauce over each piece.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  • Return to the oven and broil for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in your favorite BBQ sauce before wrapping it. Ensure that the bacon is wrapped tightly to prevent it from unraveling during cooking. Leftovers can be shredded and used in salads, wraps, or on top of a baked sweet potato.
