Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the bread slices, cooking until golden brown on both sides.
  • Once crisp, transfer the bread into a baking dish in a single layer.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread, then sprinkle cheese on top. Optionally, toss in fresh herbs.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the eggs have set. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes
