  • 1 cup heavy cream Can use low-fat cream, though it affects richness.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) For added spice.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Pasta

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes (with their juices), salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring until well combined. Allow the sauce to cook for another 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Combining and Serving

  • Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  • Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.

Notes

If you have leftovers, they can be refrigerated for up to 3 days. Reheat gently, adding a splash of cream or water to restore creaminess.
