  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper Reduce for milder flavor, or increase for more heat.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper

Ribs and Sauce

  • 4 lbs pork baby back ribs
  • 3 cups BBQ sauce Customize your BBQ sauce for desired sweetness or spiciness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix the paprika, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  • Rub this spice mixture onto both sides of the ribs generously.
  • Arrange the ribs in your crock pot, standing them up against the walls with the thicker side down and the meaty side facing the wall.
  • Pour the BBQ sauce all over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 7 hours.
  • Towards the end of the cooking time, preheat your oven's broiler.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil. Carefully remove the ribs from the crock pot, placing them bone side up on the sheet.
  • Skim the fat from the crock pot and strain the remaining juices into a small saucepan.
  • Bring the sauce to a boil and simmer for roughly 15 minutes to thicken.
  • Brush the sauce over the ribs and broil for about 5 minutes.
  • Flip the ribs, add more sauce, and broil again for another 5 minutes.

Notes
