Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Should be at room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix-Ins

  • 1 to 1.5 cups Easter M&Ms Reserve a few for topping

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time and then add the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the Easter M&Ms, reserving a few for topping if desired.

Baking

  • Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze for longer storage. For a chewier cookie, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
