  • 1/4 cup honey Can be substituted with maple syrup.
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce Tamari can be used for a gluten-free option.
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Preparation

  • Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic to create the glaze.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for about 4 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
  • Flip the fillets and brush half of the honey garlic glaze over the top. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
  • Drizzle the remaining glaze over the fillets and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Serve the salmon on a bed of steamed rice or quinoa, and complement with seasonal vegetables like asparagus or broccoli. For a unique flavor, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze or squeezing fresh lemon juice over the top before serving. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
