  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup regular breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable or canola oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping

    • Cut each string cheese stick in half. Arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes.

    Set Up Your Breading Station:

    • Whisk the eggs in a shallow bowl. In another bowl, mix panko, regular breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
    • Coat the Cheese Bites:
    • Dip each frozen cheese piece in the beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Repeat for a double layer if desired.

    Heat the Oil:

    • Heat vegetable or canola oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).

    Fry to Perfection:

    • Fry cheese bites in batches for 30-60 seconds until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

    Air Fryer Option:

    • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange cheese bites in the basket and cook for 4-5 minutes, shaking halfway through.

    Serve and Enjoy:

    • Serve immediately with marinara sauce or ranch dressing.
