Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit (raisins or cranberries) Optional
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips Optional

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup natural nut butter (peanut or almond) Can use sunflower seed butter for a nut-free version.
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup Maple syrup works for a vegan option.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients for an organized workspace.
  • In a large bowl, mix the rolled oats, chia seeds, and any dry ingredients.
  • Stir in the nut butter and honey (or maple syrup) until fully blended.
  • Fold in your choice of dried fruits and the optional chocolate chips.
  • Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up before serving.

Notes

Energy balls can last about a week in the refrigerator and up to three months in the freezer. Make sure your nut butter is well-mixed and creamy for better binding. If the mixture is too dry, add a splash of water or extra honey/maple syrup to help it hold together.
