Cheese Ball Base

  • 1 package 8 oz cream cheese, softened Use room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese Optional, can be swapped out based on preference.

Flavorings and Mix-ins

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (e.g., pecans or walnuts) Choose based on preference.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and crumbled blue cheese (if using).
  • Add in the finely chopped green onions, red bell pepper, chopped nuts, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything well until fully combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a ball or log, depending on your presentation preference.
  • Wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Once chilled, remove it from the fridge, unwrap, and place it on a serving platter.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with an assortment of crackers or fresh vegetables.
  • For added flair, sprinkle some extra chopped nuts or fresh herbs on top before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days. The cheese ball can also be frozen for up to a month. To prepare in advance, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and place it in a freezer bag.
