  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Make sure it's melted but not too hot.
  • 2 large eggs Use at room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules Can substitute with brewed coffee.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream For the frosting.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar For the frosting.

Mix-ins

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Dark or white chocolate can be used.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, and instant coffee granules until combined.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  • Stir in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Frosting

  • For the frosting, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until simmering, then remove from heat.
  • Stir in powdered sugar and coffee until smooth.
  • Allow the brownies to cool, then spread the coffee frosting on top.

Notes
