Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup melted butter Make sure to cool slightly before mixing.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Can be substituted with coconut sugar.
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature eggs work best.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Different types of cocoa can be used for flavor variations.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Almond flour can be used for gluten-free options.
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Optional for extra fudginess.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, blending well.
  • Incorporate the eggs and vanilla extract, stirring until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined to avoid overmixing.
  • If you wish, fold in chocolate chips for that extra chocolatey goodness.
  • Pour the brownie batter into your prepared baking dish, smoothing it evenly.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Allow the brownies to cool before cutting them into squares.

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, in the fridge for a week, or freeze for up to three months. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or drizzle with caramel sauce for an enhanced dessert experience.
