Main Ingredients

  • 4 fillets cod fillets (6 oz each) You can substitute with any firm white fish.
  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey Adjust sweetness as needed.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 green onions chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (optional) Toast in a skillet until golden.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, and lemon juice until well-combined.
  • Place the cod fillets in a shallow dish and pour half the marinade over them. Let them marinate for 15-30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Arrange the marinated fillets on a greased baking sheet and brush them with the remaining marinade.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  • If you like, toast the sesame seeds in a skillet over medium heat until golden.
  • Serve the cod garnished with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds for an extra touch of flavor.

Notes

Best served with steamed jasmine rice or a fresh green salad. For a light meal, wrap the fish in lettuce leaves.
