Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 slices slices of bread (brioche or Texas toast recommended)
  • 2 large large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk (any kind)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Butter Butter (for frying)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Fresh berries (for serving)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut each slice of bread into heart shapes.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little butter.
  • Dip each heart-shaped bread into the egg mixture, letting it soak for a few seconds on each side.
  • Place the soaked bread onto the skillet, and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar, and topped with fresh berries.

Notes

For extra fluffiness, avoid over-soaking the bread. You can customize with toppings like Greek yogurt, maple syrup, or coconut. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
