  • Pink gel food coloring (adjust for shade)

  • Fondant or satin pink ribbon for bow

Instructions

Preparation

  • Grease and flour a heart-shaped cake pan (or carve a round cake into a heart later). Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mixing

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  • Mix in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • Alternately add flour mixture and milk until smooth.

Baking

  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 28–32 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.

Frosting

  • Beat butter until creamy, then slowly add powdered sugar. Mix in cream, vanilla, and pink coloring until fluffy.
  • Spread a crumb coat, chill for 10 minutes, then cover with smooth pink buttercream.

Decoration

  • Pipe rosettes or swirls around the edges, add edible glitter or sprinkles, and finish with a pink bow for the perfect girly touch.

Notes

Storage: Keep at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for 5 days. Make-ahead: Bake cake a day in advance; wrap tightly and frost when ready. Theme swap: Change the bow color for different occasions—red for Valentine’s Day, gold for glam, or white for weddings. Extra flavor: Add a layer of strawberry jam or fresh berries between cake layers for a fruity surprise.
