  • 1 lb ground sausage (mild or spicy) For extra kick use spicy sausage.
  • 1 8 oz cream cheese, softened Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before mixing.
  • 1 cup sour cream Low-fat versions can be used if desired.
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese Can experiment with other cheese blends.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 10 oz can Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies), drained
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional) Add more for extra heat.
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions (for garnish)

Preparation

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until it’s browned and crumbly. Be sure to drain any excess grease.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  • Stir in the cooked sausage, Rotel, cheddar, and mozzarella cheese, mixing well to ensure everything is evenly incorporated.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and transfer the mixture into a baking dish.
  • Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  • Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley or green onions before serving.

Notes

Hissy Fit Dip is best served warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or toasted baguette slices. It can also be paired with fresh vegetables for a balanced snack. To store leftovers, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
