Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups peanut butter (or an allergy-friendly substitute) Consider sun butter or almond butter for a nut-free version.
  • 3/4 cup protein powder Approximately 90g.
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup Feel free to substitute with honey.
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 oz melted chocolate chips Optional. Add 2 teaspoons of oil for smoother consistency.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter, protein powder, maple syrup, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  • If using chocolate, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and add 2 teaspoons of oil for a smoother consistency.
  • Shape the mixture into bars by hand, or press it into a lined 8x8 inch pan for a uniform look.
  • Spread the melted chocolate over the top of the pressed mixture or dip each bar into the melted chocolate.
  • Refrigerate until chilled and firm, then slice into bars for easy snacking.

Notes

To keep your protein bars fresh, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about a week, or freeze for up to three months.
