  • 12 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

Instructions:

    Prep the Ingredients:

    • Unwrap mozzarella sticks and cut them in half if desired.
    • Place flour in one shallow bowl, whisk eggs in another, and mix breadcrumbs with seasonings in a third bowl.

    Coat the Cheese Sticks:

    • Roll each cheese stick in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with seasoned breadcrumbs.
    • For extra crunch, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating.

    Freeze Before Cooking:

    • Place coated cheese sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
    • Freeze for at least 1 hour to prevent cheese from melting too quickly.

    Cook the Cheese Sticks:

    • Frying: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry cheese sticks for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
    • Baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C), lightly spray cheese sticks with oil, and bake for 8-10 minutes.
    • Air Frying: Preheat to 375°F (190°C) and air fry for 6-8 minutes until crispy.

    Serve and Enjoy:

    • Drain fried cheese sticks on paper towels and serve immediately with marinara sauce or your favorite dip.
