Ingredients
  

For the Burgers

  • 1 pound ground beef Use higher fat content for juiciness (e.g., 80/20).
  • 1 large onion, sliced Caramelized for sweetness.
  • 2-3 pieces fresh jalapeños, sliced Adjust quantity for desired heat level.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste Season beef before cooking.
  • 4 pieces burger buns Toast for added texture.
  • 4 slices cheese (optional) Choose your favorite type.
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil For caramelizing onions and cooking patties.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a splash of cooking oil.
  • Toss in the sliced onions and cook them until caramelized, stirring occasionally. Set aside once ready.
  • In the same skillet, form the ground beef into patties and smash them down. Season with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side and carefully flip them.
  • If using cheese, place a slice on each patty along with some jalapeño slices, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until desired doneness.
  • Toast the burger buns lightly in the skillet until golden.

Assembly

  • Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the buns and topping them with caramelized onions.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Serve with sweet potato fries or coleslaw. For a low-carb option, use lettuce wraps instead of buns.
