Ingredients

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until well combined.
  • Gently combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Don’t over-mix; a few lumps are perfectly fine.

Cooking

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil.
  • Using letter cutouts or a squeeze bottle, create pancake letters on the skillet.
  • Cook until bubbles form on top; then flip and cook until golden brown.
  • Serve warm with syrup and fresh fruit.

Notes

For even fluffier pancakes, let the batter rest for about 10 minutes before cooking. Control the heat carefully to prevent burning.
