Ingredients
  

Dumpling Mixture

  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (grated carrots, peas, potatoes, etc.) For variety, substitute with other veggies like bell peppers or zucchini.
  • 1/2 cup gram flour (besan) You can substitute with all-purpose flour.
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 2-3 pieces green chilies (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • to taste Salt
  • Oil for frying Oil for frying
  • Fresh coriander Fresh coriander (for garnish)

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mixed vegetables, gram flour, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, cumin seeds, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix everything well until it reaches a dough-like consistency.
  • Shape the mixture into small balls or patties to form the dumplings.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until hot. Carefully add the dumplings to the oil, frying until they turn golden brown on all sides.
  • Once fried, remove them from the oil and drain on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot for a delightful treat.

Notes

These Mixed Vegetable Dumplings can be served with tangy tamarind chutney, mint yogurt sauce, or sweet chili sauce. For storage, place cooled dumplings in an airtight container; they will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to a month. Reheat in a hot frying pan for the perfect crispy coating.
