  • 10 oz linguine Can substitute with other noodles like spaghetti or ramen.
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar For sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce For depth of flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced Feel free to add more for garlic lovers.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch To thicken the sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons water For the cornstarch slurry.
  • 4 pieces green onions, sliced For garnish.
  • a pinch red pepper flakes Optional, adds a nice kick.

Instructions

Cooking the Noodles

  • Cook the linguine according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.

Preparing the Beef

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, ensuring to drain any excess fat afterward.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.

Making the Sauce

  • Stir in the brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Mix everything together well.
  • In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with the water to create a slurry. Pour this into the skillet and stir, allowing the sauce to thicken for 2-3 minutes.

Combining and Serving

  • Once thickened to your liking, add the cooked linguine to the skillet. Toss the noodles generously in the sauce until well-coated.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot for maximum flavor.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container. This dish will stay fresh in the fridge for about 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove. If it looks dry, add a splash of beef broth or water.
