  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20) For juicy, flavorful patties
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese Melted on the patties
  • 4 slices bacon Crispy, cooked
  • 4 brioche buns brioche buns Toasted for best texture
  • 8 oz mushrooms (Portobello or cremini) Sautéed with garlic and thyme
  • 1/2 cup bacon jam For a sweet and smoky flavor

Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp butter For sautéing mushrooms and toasting buns
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning the beef and mushrooms
  • 1 tsp garlic powder For flavoring the mushrooms
  • 1 sprig fresh thyme Optional, for sautéing mushrooms

Instructions
 

Preparing the Toppings

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1-2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Add thinly sliced mushrooms, sauté with salt, pepper, and garlic powder for 5-7 minutes until golden and tender.
  • Fry bacon strips in medium heat until crispy, then drain on paper towels.
  • For bacon jam, combine cooked bacon with caramelized onions, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup, cook until thick.

Shaping and Cooking the Beef Patties

  • Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
  • Season with salt and pepper, cook on a preheated grill or skillet for 3-4 minutes per side.
  • During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of Swiss cheese to each patty.

Toasting the Brioche Buns

  • Slice brioche buns in half and butter the cut sides.
  • Toast buns on the grill or skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Assembling the Burger

  • Start with the bottom bun, spread a layer of bacon jam.
  • Add the cheese-covered beef patty on top.
  • Top with sautéed mushrooms and crispy bacon.
  • Finish with another layer of bacon jam on the top bun and place it on the stack.

Serving

  • Serve with sides like sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.

Customize with optional toppings like arugula, caramelized onions, or spicy mayo for extra flavor.
