  • 2 lbs Fresh Strawberries Hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar For macerating strawberries
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice Enhances strawberry flavor

Dairy

  • 2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream Cold, for whipping
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar Adjust according to sweetness preference

Cake

  • 16 oz Pre-baked Cake Such as pound cake or angel food cake, cut into cubes

Flavorings

  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract For added flavor

Optional Garnish

  • Fresh Mint For garnish

Preparation

  • Wash, hull, and slice the strawberries.
  • In a bowl, combine the strawberries with granulated sugar and lemon juice, allowing them to sit for 20-30 minutes to form syrup.
  • Chill a mixing bowl in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  • Pour cold heavy whipping cream into the chilled bowl. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, whipping until stiff peaks form.
  • Cut the pre-baked cake into cubes.

Assembly

  • Layer cake cubes, macerated strawberries with syrup, and whipped cream in your serving dishes.
  • Repeat the layers and top with additional cream, whole strawberries, or mint leaves for garnish.
  • Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.

Notes

For leftovers, store covered in the refrigerator for up to three days. Best enjoyed within the first two days. Avoid freezing.
