Preparation

  • In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the dark chocolate chips. Mix until completely melted and smooth.
  • Stir in the orange zest and orange extract, ensuring everything is well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into a bowl and refrigerate it for about 2 hours, or until firm enough to handle.

Shaping and Coating

  • Once chilled, use a small scoop or your hands to form the chocolate mixture into small balls.
  • Place cocoa powder on a plate, and roll each chocolate ball in the cocoa to coat evenly.
  • If desired, roll a few in festive sprinkles or crushed nuts for an extra festive flair.

Notes
