  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce Can use homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced pepperoni or toppings of your choice Consider veggies, olives, etc.
  • 1 egg for egg wash Beaten before brushing.
  • to taste Italian seasoning Optional for extra flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the puff pastry sheet until it’s about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut out tree shapes, aiming for an even number.
  • Arrange half of the tree cutouts on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Spread about a tablespoon of pizza sauce on each shape, followed by a generous sprinkle of mozzarella and any desired toppings.
  • Place the remaining tree cutouts on top and seal the edges by pressing them down firmly.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle some Italian seasoning if desired.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown and puffed up beautifully.
  • Serve warm and watch them disappear!

Notes

Store any uneaten pizza bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 2-3 days. You can freeze assembled pizza bites before baking and then bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time. Consider alternatives for the egg wash or try different toppings for a unique twist.
