  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it's at room temperature for easy spreading.
  • 1/4 cup red pepper jelly Other types of preserves or jellies can be substituted.
  • Fresh thyme leaves or chopped green onion (optional, for garnish) For a touch of freshness and decoration.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Arrange the phyllo shells on a baking sheet, making sure they’re spaced out.
  • Using a spoon or a piping bag, fill each shell with about 1 teaspoon of softened cream cheese.
  • Top each one with about 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper jelly for that sweet and savory flavor combination.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5–7 minutes, or until the shells are crispy, and the cream cheese is warmed through.
  • Once out of the oven, garnish with fresh thyme or green onion, if desired.
  • Serve warm or allow to cool slightly and enjoy at room temperature.

Notes

For best freshness, store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They are best enjoyed the same day but can be kept for up to three days. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispness.
