- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh sage leaves chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried sage)
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, just until fragrant (be careful not to burn the garlic).
Stir in heavy cream and broth, and bring to a gentle simmer.
Let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly.
Add Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
Add chopped sage leaves and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt or pepper if desired.
Serve hot over pasta, chicken, or vegetables.
