  • 5 pieces croissants, torn into 1-inch pieces
  • 1.75 cups mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp finely grated lemon zest
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Topping Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 3 tbsp cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla, lemon zest, and cinnamon to the cream cheese. Whisk until fully combined.
  • Gently fold in the croissant pieces and the mixed berries, making sure they are well-coated with the custard mixture.
  • Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and allow it to sit for a few minutes.
  • Bake for about 30-35 minutes until the casserole is golden brown and set.

Topping Preparation

  • While it bakes, prepare the topping by whisking the powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla bean paste together until smooth.
  • Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving, then drizzle with the sweet cream.
