Ingredients

For the Balls

  • 250 g Gewürz-Spekulatius biscuits Spiced biscuits for flavor
  • 200 g peanut butter Can substitute with almond butter
  • 1 zest organic orange Adds refreshing citrus note
  • 5 g coconut fat Helps with chocolate melting

For the Coating

  • 200 g dark chocolate Can be substituted with milk chocolate
  • coarse sea salt For sprinkling on top

Instructions

Preparation

  • Finely crush the Gewürz-Spekulatius using a food processor or stand mixer until they resemble fine crumbs.
  • Add the peanut butter and the zest of one orange to the crushed biscuits. Knead everything together until it forms a sand-like dough.
  • Take small portions of the dough (around 10 grams each) and roll them into small balls.
  • Place the balls on a tray and refrigerate them for at least an hour to firm them up.
  • After chilling, roll the balls again gently to make them round and smooth.
  • Melt the dark chocolate and coconut fat together in a water bath, stirring until smooth and well combined.
  • Use a praline fork to dip each ball into the chocolate, allowing the excess to drip off. Place them on a cooling rack.
  • Sprinkle with coarse sea salt before the chocolate sets.
  • Let the balls dry completely, preferably overnight.
  • Store the finished treats in small paper cups in an airtight container in a cool place.
