Ingredients

For the patties

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts 3–4 breasts
  • 2 pieces fresh jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1 cup Pepper Jack cheese, sliced
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs plain or seasoned
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

For assembly

  • 4 pieces burger buns brioche is recommended
  • Lettuce and tomato slices for topping

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by preparing your ingredients. Chop the jalapeños and set them aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken with the chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and breadcrumbs. Mix until everything is just combined.
  • Shape the mixture into four equal patties, about 1-inch thick.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat or preheat your grill. Cook each patty for about 5-6 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and fully cooked through.
  • In the last minute of cooking, add the Pepper Jack cheese slices on top of each patty to melt, while you toast the burger buns in another pan until golden.

Assembly

  • Assemble your burgers by placing the patty on the bun and topping with lettuce and tomato slices. You can add any additional toppings that you love!

Notes

For best results, don't overmix the chicken and seasonings. Let patties rest after cooking for juicier burgers. Consider adding avocado slices or jalapeño relish for extra kick.
