  • 1/4 cup sugar to sweeten strawberries

Shortcake Ingredients

  • 1 package biscuit mix or homemade shortcake biscuits follow package instructions for preparation

Whipped Cream

  • 2 cups heavy cream whipped until soft peaks form

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup of sugar. Allow them to sit for about 10 minutes to release their natural juices.

Make the Shortcake

  • Prepare the shortcake biscuits according to the package instructions or your homemade recipe.

Whip the Cream

  • In another mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Assembly

  • Slice the shortcakes in half, layer them with the sweetened strawberries and whipped cream, then top with the other half of the shortcake. Serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers separately in the fridge; consume within three days. For variation, try using different berries, flavored cream cheese, or even a splash of liqueur.
