  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavor.
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled Use good quality coffee.
  • 24 pieces ladyfinger cookies Traditional ladyfingers.
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting To sprinkle on top.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form.
  • Carefully fold the mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream mixture, creating a smooth consistency.
  • Dip each ladyfinger in the cooled coffee for just a few seconds, ensuring they're soaked but not mushy.
  • In a serving dish, layer the soaked ladyfingers, followed by a layer of the mascarpone mixture and a layer of sliced strawberries.
  • Repeat the layers until all components are used, making sure the top layer is the mascarpone mixture.
  • Dust the top with cocoa powder for a lovely finish.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least four hours, allowing the dessert to set beautifully.

Notes

For dietary restrictions, consider using gluten-free ladyfingers or a dairy-free mascarpone substitute. For a twist, add a splash of orange liqueur to the coffee soak.
