Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey breast Make sure it's thawed if frozen.
  • 2 cups bread crumbs Can be substituted with gluten-free breadcrumbs if needed.
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced celery
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (sage, thyme, rosemary)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter For sautéing vegetables.
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and celery, sautéing until soft and fragrant.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sautéed veggies, bread crumbs, chopped herbs, salt, pepper, chicken broth, and egg. Mix until the stuffing is evenly moistened.
  • Carefully slice the turkey breast to create a pocket for the stuffing, being gentle to avoid cutting through the other side.
  • Stuff the turkey breast with the filling, packing it in well.
  • Place the stuffed turkey breast in a baking dish and cover it with foil.
  • Bake for about 1.5 hours. During the last 30 minutes, remove the foil to allow the top to brown.
  • Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to help keep it juicy.

Notes

Serve with sides like mashed potatoes, green beans, or salad. For sauce options, consider gravy or cranberry sauce.
