  • 2 cups powdered sugar Sifted for smooth consistency
  • 1.5 tablespoons corn syrup Can substitute with light corn syrup or agave syrup
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 tablespoons cold milk or water Adjust based on desired thickness
  • gel food coloring Optional for coloring the icing

Preparation

  • Sift your powdered sugar into a medium or large bowl.
  • Add the corn syrup, vanilla extract, and cold milk or water into the bowl.
  • Stir vigorously until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Adjust thickness with more milk or water if needed.
  • Divide the icing into smaller bowls if you wish to color your icing. Add gel food coloring and mix until desired hues are achieved.
  • Decorate your cookies with the icing and let it set at room temperature.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Leftover icing can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days.
