Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 20 oz cheese tortellini (fresh or refrigerated) Fresh/refrigerated tortellini cooks much faster than dried; follow package timing (typically 3–5 minutes).
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for finishing)
  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Marinara sauce for dipping
  • Ranch dressing or pesto for dipping (optional)

Instructions

Cooking the Tortellini

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to the package—usually 3–5 minutes—until al dente. Drain and let cool slightly.

Preparing the Seasoning

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Add the drained tortellini to the bowl. Gently toss until each piece is evenly coated. Be careful not to tear them.

Crisping the Tortellini

  • Oven method: preheat to 375°F (190°C). Spread the tortellini in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake 12–15 minutes, turning once if desired, until slightly crispy and golden.
  • Air fryer method: arrange tortellini in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even browning. Work in batches if necessary—avoid overcrowding.

Serving

  • Transfer to a platter and immediately sprinkle with grated Parmesan and chopped parsley, if using. Serve warm with marinara, ranch, or pesto for dipping.

Notes

Storage: refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days. To re-crisp, bake at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, or air fry at 350°F for 3–5 minutes. Avoid microwaving as it will soften them.
