Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

For the Dough

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 large egg, beaten For brushing the top.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it into smaller pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
  • Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Then, fold in the cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and chopped parsley.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface, pressing the seams to form a large sheet.
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly across the dough, then carefully roll it into a log, sealing the seam and tucking in the ends.

Baking

  • Place the log seam-side down on the baking sheet and brush the top with the beaten egg.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing and garnishing with extra parsley. Enjoy it warm!

Notes

This dish pairs beautifully with a simple salad or roasted veggies on the side. For added flavor, consider dipping it in marinara sauce or ranch dressing.
